Sciatica

Sciatica refers to pain or discomfort associated with injury or pressure on the sciatic nerve. The sciatic nerve is about the thickness of the thumb and is the largest and longest nerve in the body, spanning from the lower back, down the back of the leg to the foot. A sharp or burning pain radiates from the lower back or hip, through the buttock, possibly following the path of the sciatic nerve to the foot.
